Thumbprint Cookies

Ingredients
Cookies:
1/4 cup of Sugar
1 cup of Butter
2 cups of Flour
1/4 teasp. of Salt
1/2 cup Pecan pieces chopped
Icing:
1 cup Powdered Sugar
1/2 teasp. Almond Extract
Water
Food Coloring

Time:  approximately 45 minutes from start to finish
First, Eden is softening the butter in the microwave for just about 15 seconds.
Pour in your 1/4 cup Sugar.
 Cream them together.
Pour in your chopped Pecan pieces.
Add a bitty amount of salt.
Then add 2 cups of flour.
 Mix it all up.
Take the dough and roll it all into balls and place on a pan.
Press your thumb into each ball.
Put in the oven preheated at 350 degrees for about 20-25 minutes.
Make your frosting next.
Get your powdered sugar in a bowl and add just enough water to have it mix to the right consistency, not too watery, not too thick.  If you put too much water, just add some more powdered sugar until it's right.
Pour in a little bit of almond extract.
Mix it all up with a fork.
Eden poured it into separate little bowls so that she could do a few different colors.
Drop in your food coloring to whatever color/s you want, and stir it all up.
When the cookies are out of the oven and all cooled, then you can drop on your frosting.
Her frosting was just a bit runny.
Let the frosting set and you're ready to serve the cookies.
